Like the driver-based JobExpress module, the server-based JobDirect application provides a path for unique, one-time job submissions. Using server-side conversion to PDF, the JobDirect module requires no download or installation of specialized print drivers. It is easy to implement in even the most security-conscious environments and allows automated job submission from virtually any networked computer.
User-defined job types, e.g., documents, banners and posters, can be configured with PDF creation options such as font embedding and image compression. The JobDirect module also offers automatic conversion to PDF for more than 200 document formats including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher; Adobe Illustrator; and many popular CAD formats. In addition, the native file format is always provided to the print service provider along with the PDF file.
